Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç Attacked by Göztepe Fans; Match Interrupted Briefly
The game was halted after the second half began in the Göztepe - Fenerbahçe match. Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç went to support the away fans who were not allowed into the stands. Göztepe fans reacted to Koç’s presence. As Koç and his team, escorted by police, were heading towards the dressing room from the sidelines, a commotion occurred. The issue was quickly resolved, and the match continued from where it left off.
In the 2nd week of the Trendyol Super League, Fenerbahçe visited Göztepe. The yellow-blues ended the first half with a 2-0 lead.
A few minutes after the second half started, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç went to the away stand to support the Fenerbahçe fans who were not allowed in. Göztepe fans threw water bottles at Koç.
Later, as Ali Koç and his team were being escorted to the dressing room by police, Koç was pushed by an individual and fell to the ground. The game was briefly stopped during this time. Once security was ensured, the game resumed.
