Fenerbahçe head coach Jose Mourinho spoke after his team’s 3-1 loss to Rangers in the UEFA Europa League, acknowledging their mistakes and stating that the tie is not over yet.
Speaking to TRT, Mourinho made the following remarks:
“WE MADE MISTAKES ALL OVER THE PITCH”
“It was a deserved defeat. They deserved it. We made too many mistakes, while they made none. We made mistakes all over the pitch. We wasted very simple chances in attack. We lost every duel in the defensive line. But the tie isn’t over yet. We are currently 3-1 behind, and there are still 90 more minutes to play.”
“DESSERS LOOKED LIKE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD”
“Dessers is a good player, but today he looked like the best player in the world—though he’s not. We also felt Fred’s absence in midfield. In the end, with a poor performance, we deserved to lose. We have to accept this result.”
“FANS WERE NOT AT THEIR BEST EITHER”
“I think the fans were like the team today. Just like the team, they couldn’t deliver their best performance. Now, we’re heading to their stadium, and I know Ibrox very well.
