Fenerbahçe Coach Mourinho on Title Race: “This Gap is Manageable”

Fenerbahçe's head coach, Jose Mourinho, made statements to the Italian press, addressing the Süper Lig title race and the 8-point gap with Galatasaray.

Mourinho spoke to Italy’s Corriere Dello Sport, sharing his thoughts on the current state of the Süper Lig and his personal goals.

Reflecting on his decision to join Fenerbahçe, Mourinho said:
“I love my job and football deeply. That’s why I didn’t want to wait. I came to a club that wanted me and valued me. I accepted this offer because I wanted to work at such an important club in a beautiful city.”

Regarding the title race, the Portuguese coach stated:
“I love football so much that I started working just three days after my surgery. We had to prepare with the team and my players. The 8-point gap with Galatasaray is manageable; it can be closed.”

When asked about his future ambitions, Mourinho responded:
“I want to compete in a European Championship or World Cup. I want to unite a country around its national team. That would be an incredible experience.”
