Ahead of Fenerbahçe’s UEFA Europa League match against Manchester United, Fred shared noteworthy comments about Jose Mourinho. Here’s what Fred told UEFA TV:
“I don’t need to talk about Mourinho’s quality; everyone knows about him and the championships he’s won. He’s a great manager, and I’m very grateful to him.
He was one of the key people who brought me to Manchester United. When I was at Shakhtar, he called me and said he wanted me to join United, and after getting a call from Jose Mourinho, I couldn’t refuse.
And now, I’m at Fenerbahçe, and he’s here again, so we’re together once more. I’m very happy and grateful to work with him. He’s a great and respected person who contributes a lot to the coaching staff and players.
We want to win many championships, and he came here for that — to help us reach the top of the table and fight for a European championship. I’m sure we’ll do great things together here.”
