KASIMPAŞA VS. FENERBAHÇE TURKISH CUP: LIVE STREAM, LIVE TV BROADCAST
The Kasımpaşa vs. Fenerbahçe Turkish Cup match will be held on Thursday, January 9, at 20:30 and will be broadcast live on ATV.
INITIAL DECISION TO WITHDRAW
Both Kasımpaşa and Fenerbahçe initially applied to the Turkish Football Federation, expressing their intention not to participate in the cup. However, after discussions, Kasımpaşa decided to proceed with the matches.
Fenerbahçe’s participation in the Ziraat Turkish Cup was confirmed after statements by the club’s president, Ali Koç. Following a Fenerbahçe Board of Directors meeting, Ali Koç held a press conference to address developments in Turkish football and the cup. Koç announced, “We have decided to participate in the Turkish Cup. Not with our U19 team, but with a squad determined by our coach. If things take a turn, we always have the option to withdraw. Tomorrow, we will step onto the field and play.”
FENERBAHÇE’S ABSENTEES
Fenerbahçe will be without three key players ahead of the Kasımpaşa match. Jayden Oosterwolde, Rodrigo Becão, Dominik Livaković, and İsmail Yüksek are all sidelined due to injuries.
Additionally, the technical staff will decide whether Oğuz Aydın, who has returned to training, and Allan Saint-Maximin, who missed the previous match against Atakaş Hatayspor due to an injury, will participate.
SECOND CUP ENCOUNTER
The two teams have only met once before in the Ziraat Turkish Cup.
In the 2020-2021 season, Fenerbahçe defeated Kasımpaşa 1-0 in the round of 16.
In the previous round, Kasımpaşa faced Ankara-based team Gençlerbirliği, securing a 1-0 victory with a young squad to advance to the group stage.
