Fenerbahçe Head Coach Jose Mourinho shared a video of the penalty incident that was not awarded to Başakşehir in yesterday's Galatasaray-Başakşehir Turkish Cup match. The Portuguese coach's comments in his post drew significant attention.
Following the Galatasaray-Başakşehir match in the Turkish Cup, Fenerbahçe issued a statement targeting the referee of the match, Ali Şansalan.
In Fenerbahçe’s statement, the club said:
“Regardless of league or cup, a showcase performance by Ali Şansalan from the squad of referees who play favorites without choosing games… If asked, you’ll still claim ‘we are the most victimized!'”
Jose Mourinho also made a post about the match.
Sharing a specific moment from the match, Mourinho wrote:
“Dear @miguelcrespo_oficial, I hope you are well, and your shin pads are made of carbon.”

Responding to Mourinho’s remark, Crespo commented:
