Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç addressed the events surrounding the Galatasaray-Adana Demirspor match, saying, "Isn’t Mertens involved in this as well? So that means Mertens will be with us next season!"
Speaking about Adana Demirspor’s decision to walk off the pitch, Ali Koç made the following remarks:

Forget about the idea that we convinced Adana Demirspor or planned something in just 15 minutes—now I ask, isn’t Mertens involved in this too? So that means Mertens will be with us next season!
